50 seniors to watch this football season

Here is a look at some seniors to watch from the 2012 class this August.  Research includes but is not limited to all-city recognition and all-district recognition from 2010 season, team success and recruiting information this spring/summer.

50 players to watch in area’s 2012 class

1. Adolphus Washington , Taft: The senior defensive end has been considering schools that include UC, Ohio State, Alabama, Kentucky, Michigan, Miami (Fla), Michigan State, Tennessee, Notre Dame, Florida State and LSU. He had 107 tackles and 19 sacks during the regular season in 2010 for the Senators. He has already committed to play in the 2012 Under Armour All-America Game.

2. Joe Bolden , Colerain: The linebacker verbally committed to Michigan on April 29. Bolden, who is 6 feet 3 and 230 pounds, was offered by the Wolverines in mid-March. He also had offers from the likes of UC, Tennessee, Arkansas, Penn State, Kentucky, Boston College, Arizona, Stanford, West Virginia, North Carolina State, Illinois, North Carolina and several others. He is a nominee for the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.

3. Dwayne Stanford , Taft: The wide receiver is one of the most recruited offensive players in the state. He had 35 receptions for 706 yards and six touchdowns during the 2010 regular season. Taft coach Mike Martin said Stanford, who is 6 feet 4 and 190 pounds, has offers from several major college programs including UC, Stanford, Oregon, LSU, Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Michigan State, Ohio State and Notre Dame. He has committed to play in the 2012 Under Armour game.

4. Monty Madaris , Moeller: The wide receiver had 50 receptions for 719 yards and seven touchdowns last season. His latest offer came from Florida State on June 21. Madaris, who is 6 feet 2 and 185 pounds, also has offers from UC, Purdue, Michigan State, Boston College, Louisville, Nebraska, Virginia, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan State and others.

5. A.J. Williams , Sycamore: The 6-foot-6, 255-pound tight end verbally committed to Michigan the morning of April 22. He also had offers from Arkansas, Vanderbilt, Louisville, Michigan State, Illinois, North Carolina State, Boston College, West Virginia, Indiana and others.

6. Trae Clark , Colerain: The defensive tackle saw his stock rise very quickly this spring. Clark, who is 6 feet 4 and 330 pounds, has offers from Arkansas, Pittsburgh, Kentucky, West Virginia, Syracuse, Marshall, Ohio University, South Florida, Indiana, Michigan State and North Carolina State.

Dr. Busam Inducted Into Academy « Cincinnati Sports Medicine ...

With a special interest in sports medicine, Dr. Busam works in a private practice setting at Cincinnati SportsMedicine and Orthopaedic Center and has office hours in both Western Hills, Ohio and Crestview Hills, Kentucky.

Dr. Busam volunteers his time working with Elder High School on the West Side of Cincinnati and provides medical advice for Cincinnati’s Flying Pig Marathon. An orthopaedic surgeon is a physician with extensive training in the diagnosis and non-surgical as well as surgical treatment of the musculoskeletal system, including bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, muscles and nerves.

The Academy is the largest medical association for musculoskeletal specialists. Its Fellows have completed medical school, plus at least five years of specialty study in orthopaedics in an accredited residency program, passed a comprehensive oral and written exam, and been certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. With more than 36,000 members, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (www.aaos.org) or (www.orthoinfo.aaos.org), is a not-for-profit organization that provides education programs for orthopaedic surgeons, allied health professionals and the public. An advocate for improved patient care, the Academy is participating in the Bone and Joint Decade (www.usbjd.org), the global initiative to raise awareness of musculoskeletal health, stimulate research and improve people’s quality of life. The years 2002-2011 have been declared National Bone and Joint Decade in support of these objectives.
