Reply to a skeptic
In simply stating the truth about the Bible's divine origin, I was not beating anyone down, but letter-writer Richard Stahl apparently thought otherwise. He said that beating people down with the good book typifies the behavior of many Christians. And many skeptics, I might add, typically feel threatened by exposure to the truth and are manifestly intolerant of the same.I don't know much about the Egyptian sky-god Horus, but I seriously doubt that there are any ancient writings depicting him as having had a life virtually indistinguishable from the life of Jesus. My suspicion is that modern skeptics, being familiar with the life of Jesus as given in the Bible, have transferred to Horus much of the biography of Jesus in an effort to relate the Bible to earlier myth-making, and thus undermine its veracity.
