How to Build Social Media Relationship Part 2 – Make People Feel ...

5. A feeling of importance

Almost all these needs (the list) are usually fulfilled but only one – The feeling of Importance (Respect by others in Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs).

Everyone likes a compliment. . William James said: "The deepest principle in human nature is the craving to be appreciated. But in the fast changing world, most people want to get compliments rather than giving compliments. Giving compliments is actually much important. It helps in your lives and your businesses.

The feeling of importance makes people upload the most beautiful pictures for their social media profiles. It is the feeling of importance makes bloggers need a lot of comments for their blog posts. It is the feeling of importance makes people want to be famous and searched on Google.

So, if you want to build a genuine social media relationship, make people feel important! But how?

For example, if your friend on Facebook uploads a new photo of wearing a new shirt, you can say "You look nice!" (Please bear in mind that, I am talking about the real compliment, do not be fake in giving compliment). If your friend on Twitter feel useless, replies his/her tweet by saying something to make your friend feels important to encourage him/her. If your friends on Linkedin hit a sales target, you can congratulate and praise them for their hardwork. A simple compliment means a lot to your friends when they need help.

This is especially important when you want to be success in blogging. One of the most use strategy to ensure you succeed in blogging, you have to invite people to become your guest bloggers. In order to successfully invite people to become your guest bloggers, you have to make them feel important. How?

For example, my readers would like to read different content from different bloggers. I would tell guest bloggers that it is very important for them to become guest bloggers because my readers would really like to read their content and get to know them. It makes them feel important to become my guest bloggers. Does it work? Yes, it works! :)

Remember, if you want to build a genuine social media relationship, make people feel important!
