Kickball Victory! Golf! Lionfish!

Pretty sore from the workout yesterday, so I don't think I'll be doing my homegrown interval training on a Tuesday (game day) again.

We won our kickball game yesterday; 3-1. We were tied at the end of the seventh inning, which is the final inning in our league, so we went into an extra inning and scored two more points. I even got on base for the first time, which was very cool, but did not get to tag anyone out by hitting them in the face with a ball this week. Sadface. Afterwards we went out with the team for pizza and beer, and I am proud to say that I was still well within my caloric ranges for the day.

I bought it. I'm excited about dragging my Gentleman out to play some golf with me. I am not sure when it's going to happen, but the weekend of the 8th looks positive. Otherwise, it will be sometime in August, I think, because he's doing SCUBA certification stuff the following weekend and we're going camping/diving the weekend after that.

I have been reading a lot about lionfish hunting today. Lionfish are a non-indigenous invasive species that have no natural predators in the western hemisphere (people had them in aquariums and then released them into the Atlantic, where they absolutely should not be). They're destroying marine ecosystems as a result, so most countries where they've been sighted in the western hemisphere (including the US) have issued a mandate to divers to kill them on sight. In the last year, I have seen 8 lionfish during 6 dives (and killed 0, in case you wondered). I want to learn spearfishing so I can help the reefs out. I have also read that lionfish is delicious. I have never killed a vertebrate before, not even accidentally hitting a squirrel with my car. I wonder if it will instill in me a thirst for blood.
